Jenn - Studio Shoot
A studio shoot with Jen for her portfolio. While I prefer to shoot outdoors on location, it is nice being in the studio once in a while. We had a good time, tried some new things and were exhausted after the three hour session. I know I slept good that night!

Island Shoot { part 2 - behind the scenes }
Some "behind the scenes" images from the Island shoot. I love taking these shots. It's always fun to see what goes on during a shoot.

Island Shoot
Another fun filled boat and island shoot. Three photographers, three beautiful models and our wonderful makeup artist Oubon. We launched the boat in Constantia and headed out to Frenchmans Island to shoot first. It was very hot, over 90 degrees outside. When we docked the boat Oubon started right away doing the girls makeup. Again, it was so HOT! The makeup was just melting even in the shade. As the girls were ready we paired up and started shooting all over the island. Then we would switch models/photographers and shoot some more. At one point, I had to take a swim. I was just dying from the heat. And hey, I could because I wasn't getting my makeup done, lol.
After a couple hours of shooting on Frenchmans Island and a great lunch prepared by my wonderful husband, we set sail for Three Mile Bay. Now there is a nice breeze blowing and the heat is more bearable. Much better for all of us, especially the models.
We arrive at Three Mile and it is quite crowded but we love an audience. So we all get in the water and start shooting. The models are finally able to get wet and cool off. And they have a little fun with the mud too. There are a few spectators watching. Then we walk to shore (stupid me I'm barefoot) to shoot because we are losing the sun. We find some great golden light near the peak of Three Mile Bay.
I shot mostly with Tanya throughout the day. Only shot once with Jenn and once with Desi. A great time was had by all! It was the perfect way to spend a hot summer day. We are already planning a couple more island shoots for next year. Can't wait.
And now for some pictures.... lots more on my Flickr

Abandoned Subway Model Shoot...
What an incredible location! The abandoned subway in Rochester, NY in use from 1927-1956. This place was amazing and a little creepy too. So much graffiti by some very talented artists. It was just everywhere. A really unique place for a model shoot. Have to thank models Becky and Jenn for braving the spiders and other creepy crawlies. And Kim (http://www.bigpawphoto.com/) for suggesting the location and shooting with me. It's always more fun when you have a photographer friend to shoot with.
After jumping over a guardrail (and ignoring the "no trespassing" signs), we made our way down the hill to the abandoned subway. We didn't venture too far into the dark parts of the subway but found a lot of great places to shoot inside. We even had some company and our very own body guards. Met some of the roadies from Keith Urban and Taylor Swift. They were exploring (in town for the concert) and hung out with us for a while. Even carried some of our gear for us. They actually heard from their friends there were some "hot" models down in the subway and came to check them out. Thanks guys. You were super nice and very helpful
And a special congrats to Jenn for getting signed with AMS Models & Talent and booking her first job already!!! You go girl.

Desi { model shoot }...
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot to blog about my Urban shoot with Desi. I've shot with her a few times and always enjoy it. Last couple shoots were at the beach, one in Oswego and one at Chimney Bluffs. This time I wanted her in an urban setting. I've know Desi since she was 8 years old. I can always count on her to model for me. She has a great personality and a fresh, modern style to go along with it.
So of course we shot in downtown Syracuse, lol. Brought along some fun fashions and walked around until we found cool locations. We were lucky enough to have the perfect weather too. That always helps.
Here are a few from the shoot.

We actually got in trouble for this one. Who knew we were on Federal property? I just like the concrete.

Molly - Downtown Syracuse...
How lucky am I? I keep finding all of these gorgeous, talented models. They make my job so much easier.
This is Molly. She's another model from Rochester. And also great to work with. Awesome with her facial expressions and posing. I had a hard time choosing the images for this post too.
We did a shoot in downtown Syracuse (sorry my favorite place). I just love downtown and prefer to shoot on location using natural light when possible. Just walk a few blocks and you find all kinds of cool backgrounds and locations.
I'm hoping to work with Molly again sometime soon.
I had this one printed as a 16x20. It is proudly hanging in my studio...

Christina - Urban Model Shoot...
My first time shooting with Christina from Rochester. All I can say is "WOW". She is an amazing model to say the least. So easy to work with and great with her posing. And a fantastic personality too.
We did an Urban Style shoot in downtown Syracuse. I had so many great images from this shoot it was hard to choose which ones to post. I even used one of the images on my personal Comp Card.
Watch for more of Christina! She'll be everywhere. And will be featured on a billboard in the Rochester area soon. Visit her on Model Mayhem here.
